For most of the first decade covered here only one set survives in a form anyone can still open, and it happens to be the simplest one: a weighted average of recent seasons with a regression toward league average and an age adjustment. It was designed as a floor rather than a contender, which is precisely what makes it useful as a baseline across nine straight years.

The 2009 season is the point where a second continuous set joins it, and from there the archive widens quickly.
